ABOUT ANDREW

Andrew Waddell MLA was elected to Western Australia’s State Parliament on the 6th of September 2008 in the seat of Forrestfield, he was the first person to be elected to represent this area.  Andrew stood as the Labor Party’s candidate for the seat and only narrowly won the seat in a close election.  

Andrew has had a long association with the area, growing up in the area and attending the High Wycombe Primary and Forrestfield Senior High School in the 1970’s and 1980’s respectively.  Today Andrew lives with his wife Jenny and their daughter Amelia who also attends a school in the electorate.

Aside from a passion to get more resources into the Eastern Suburbs of Perth, Andrew is a computer geek and prior to entering parliament worked within the IT industry including the running of his own small IT support company.

Andrew currently volunteers his time at the Foothills Learning Centre, teaching computer basics every Monday from 7pm to 9pm. The classes focus on developing practical computer skills for daily use, including lessons on how to convert wedding videos from video to DVD, sell items on eBay, send photos via email and use Skype. You can join the class by contacting the Foothills Learning Centre on 9454 5855.
