Delayed Health Campus Insulting

The signage at the site of the Midland Health Campus has recently been changed, yet it will not fool the people of this area.

Under the Labor Government the health campus was due for completion in 2012. Now the Barnett government has no clear time frame for the opening of the hospital, displaying a new “coming soon” sign outside the campus.

Many residents have approached Andrew regarding terrible experiences with the insufficient services available at Swan Districts hospital. Despite Andrew raising these issues with Ministers in Parliament the health campus continues to be delayed.

Come 2012 residents in the Forrestfield, Midland, Swan Hills, and West Swan electorates will know who has failed to deliver them their hospital and who continues to withdraw funding from Swan Districts hospital.

Compounded with this delay is the possible privatisation of the health campus which only insults the residents of our area even further. Andrew, along with Shadow Health Minister Roger Cook, will be moving to table a Private Members Bill to protect the Midland Heath Campus from privatisation in the coming months.
